Das Künstlerhaus Mousonturm ist Teil der vielfältigen Kulturszene in Frankfurt am Main und steht in einem kontinuierlichen Prozess der Weiterentwicklung. Neue Arbeitsmethoden und Entwicklungen im Bereich der Kunst im Zeitalter von Globalisierung und Medialisierung, aber auch die gesellschaftlichen, politischen und wirtschaftlichen Veränderungen bedingen diese kontinuierliche Fortschreibung, die Garant ist für die vitale Zukunft des Hauses.

Das Künstlerhaus Mousonturm ist Spiel-, Produktions- und Kommunikationsstätte für internationale Künstler vieler Disziplinen. Schwerpunkte sind: zeitgenössischer Tanz, Theater, Musik, Performance und Bildende Kunst, ergänzt durch: Neue Medien, Literatur, Film, Hörspiel und Clubart. Das Haus hält für alle Sparten sowohl Produktionsmöglichkeiten (Proberäume, Studios, Werkstätten, Ateliers) als auch Darstellungsmöglichkeiten (Theatersaal, Studiobühne, Ausstellungsbereich, Hessisches Literaturforum, Seminarraum) bereit. Mit schlanken Strukturen und modernem Management will der Mousonturm im Sinne der Künstler Modell sein für wirtschaftliches Denken und Handeln in öffentlichen Kulturbetrieben. Als Ausbildungsbetrieb übernimmt der Mousonturm auch gesellschaftliche Verantwortung: Ausgebildet werden technische und administrative Fachkräfte für den Kulturbetrieb. Derzeit: vier Veranstaltungstechniker, zwei Veranstaltungskauffrauen.

Künstlerisch und konzeptionell ist der Ansatz des Hauses in der Praxis wie auch in der Theorie genreübergreifend und international ausgerichtet - mit dem Ziel, eine Vielfalt aktueller Kunst zu vermitteln. Neben Gastspielen und Eigenproduktionen konzipiert und realisiert das Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Projekte und Symposien, die sich mit gesellschaftlichen Themen und Fragestellungen und auch künstlerischen Arbeitsmethoden und -prozessen auseinandersetzen.

Neben der Pflege bewährter Kooperationen gilt es immer auch, neue künstlerische Tendenzen aufzuspüren und in einer zeitgemäßen Programmgestaltung zu vermitteln.
Die Aspekte Aus- und Weiterbildung, Forschung, Vermittlung und die Förderung junger Künstler sind substantieller Baustein unserer Konzeption. Dies bedeutet für das Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, als "renommierter Produzent" junge Künstler zu entdecken, innovative Darstellungsformen hervorzubringen, aufzubauen und international bekannt zu machen und zum anderen als "renommierter Gastspielort" für international profilierte Künstler zu fungieren. Ein Kuratorenmodell befruchtet die Programmgestaltung und sorgt für eine hohe Qualität, Flexibilität und Vielseitigkeit - die kontinuierliche Arbeit in lokalen, nationalen und internationalen Netzwerken fördert einen vitalen Konnex von inhaltlichen und finanziellen Ressourcen.

Daraus ergibt sich ein Programmprofil, das neugierig machen soll, das informieren und Kenntnisse vermitteln will, das die Lust auf Kunst und Kommunikation nachhaltig wecken will und ein weiterhin wachsendes und interessiertes Publikum für das Haus gewinnen möchte.

KÜNSTLERHAUS MOUSONTURM

Künstlerhaus Mousonturm is part of the diverse cultural scene in Frankfurt/Main and is involved in a continuous process of ongoing development. New methods of work and trends in the art sector in the age of globalization and mediatization, but also social, political and economic changes, affect this continual updating. This is the guarantee for a vital future of the House which, with its contemporary, international profile, has to tackle many different tasks.

Mousonturm is a staging, production and communication site for international artists of all disciplines, with a focus on contemporary dance, theatre, music, performance and the fine arts, which are complemented by the new media, literature, film, radio play and club art.
The House provides for all these endeavours not only production facilities (rehearsal rooms, studios, workshops) but also staging facilities (theatre, studio stage, exhibition area, Hessisches Literaturforum, seminar rooms).
As a training facility, Mousonturm also assumes a social responsibility: specialist technical and administrative staff are trained for work in cultural facilities. At present there are four event technicians, two event purchasers

With its lean structures and modern management methods, Mousonturm tries to provide, for the advancement of art and today’s artists, a model for economic thinking and acting in the public cultural sector.
The artistic and conceptual approach is, both practically and theoretically, international and comprehensive of genres with the objective of sharpening perceptions and knowledge of the diverse areas of art and transposing them into a sensible intermeshing from which innovative forms of presentation can arise.
Apart from guest performances and its own productions, Künstlerhaus Mousonturm realizes projects and symposia which critically engage with social topics and questions and also with artistic methods and processes of working.

The aspects of training and further training, research, education and the promotion of young artists are a substantial building block of our conception and come to realization in numerous projects and public events. With this we intentionally refuse the pressure for ‘statistical success’ and create open spaces for artistic development.

A curator model stimulates and inspires the shaping of the program and ensures quality, flexibility and diversity. Local, national and international networks that are continually being built up promote a vigorous connection of substantial and financial resources.
Besides proven collaborations, the goal, on an ongoing basis, is to uncover new artistic tendencies and to offer a program in tune with the times.

This means on the one hand, as a 'renowned producer', discovering and developing young artists for the international market and, on the other, as a 'renowned performance venue', providing a site for internationally acclaimed artists. Apart from artistic aspects, a mixed program results with the aim of attracting and informing a curious public, of communicating knowledge and of awakening the pleasure in art, discourse and communication in an enduring way.
