Unter dem Titel Tanzlabor_21 / Ein Projekt von Tanzplan Deutschland setzen die drei Institutionen Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main und Institut für Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft der Justus Liebig Universität Gießen ein gemeinsames Konzept um, das im Rahmen von Tanzplan Deutschland - einem Förderprojekt der Kulturstiftung des Bundes - bis 2010 mit 1,15 Mio. Euro ausgestattet wird. Mit einer weiteren fünfjährigen Förderung in Höhe von 500.000,- Euro wird das Projekt durch das Dezernat Kultur und Wissenschaft der Stadt Frankfurt am Main und mit 650.000,- Euro durch das Hessische Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst unterstützt. Das Projekt ist zunächst auf 5 Jahre begrenzt. Tanzlabor_21 / Ein Projekt von Tanzplan Deutschland widmet sich der professionellen Ausbildung im Tanz und soll alle tanzrelevanten Institutionen der Rhein-Main Region miteinander verbinden. Ziel des Tanzlabor_21 ist es, Tanzpraxis und Tanztheorie besser miteinander zu vernetzen. Geplant ist vor allem die Gründung neuer, praxisorientierter Studiengänge in der Tanzausbildung: ein Masterstudiengang Zeitgenössische Tanzpädagogik, der ab WS 2007/2008 spezifisch für zeitgenössischen Tanz an der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (HfMDK) eingerichtet wird, sowie ab WS 2008/2009 ein Masterstudiengang Choreografie/ Performance an der HfMDK und dem Institut für Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft an der Justus Liebig Universität Gießen, im Rahmen der Hessischen Theaterakademie. Jedes Jahr werden Absolventen der Tanzstudiengänge, ergänzt durch professionelle Akteure, ein Projektensemble bilden und mit namhaften Choreograf/innen prozessorientierte Bühnenerfahrung sammeln können. Ein regelmäßiges Profitraining für professionelle Tänzer/innen und Tanzstudierende wurde im Januar 2007 eingerichtet. In einem alle zwei Jahre stattfindenden Sommerlabor (erstmals geplant 2008) sollen die Ergebnisse des Tanzlabor_21 / Tanzplan Frankfurt Rhein_Main präsentiert werden. Unterstützt durch ein Artist-in-Residence Programm werden internationale Künstler/innen in das Projekt eingebunden (Start: Mai 2007). Tanzlabor_21 / Tanzplan Frankfurt Rhein_Main wird bei dem bereits bestehenden Projekt "Künstler in der Schule" den Bereich Tanz entwickeln und aufbauen, das erste Projekt läuft bereits seit Anfang Februar.

TANZLABOR_21 / A Tanzplan Deutschland project, is a joint project conceived and developed by the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, the Frankfurt University for Music and Performing Arts and the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen. Until 2010, the project will receive 1.15 million euros in funding from the Tanzplan Deutschland - an initiative of the Federal Cultural Foundation. It will receive an additional amount of 500,000 euros over the course of five years from the Department for Culture and Science of the City of Frankfurt/Main, as well as 650,000 euros from the Hessen's Ministry of Science and Art. Currently, the project is planned for a period of five years.
TANZLABOR_21 / A Tanzplan Deutschland project is dedicated to professional dance education and unites all dance-relevant institutions in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region. TANZLABOR_21 seeks to intensify the interaction between dance theory and dance practice. The main focus lies on the establishment of new, practically oriented dance education courses: an MA in contemporary dance pedagogy, focusing specifically on contemporary dance, will be introduced in the winter semester 2007/2008 at the Frankfurt Unversity for Music and Performing Arts. A Master of Choreography/Performance will begin in the winter semester 2008/2009 and take place both at the University for Music and Performing Arts as well as at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen as part of the Hessian Theatre Academy Network. Every year the graduates of the dance education courses will be brought together with professional artists to form a project ensemble in which they will work with well-known choreographers, thereby gaining practical process-oriented stage experience. Regular training for professional dancers and dance students began in January 2007. In a biannual summer laboratory (starting 2008), TANZLABOR_21 / A Tanzplan Deutschland project will present the results of its numerous projects to an interested audience. The year-round artist-in-residency program aims in incorporating international artists into the project as a whole (Begin: May 2007). TANZLABOR_21 / A Tanzplan Deutschland project also seeks to further develop and support the work of the ongoing outreach program "Artists in Schools" in the field of dance. The first project began in February.
Tanzlabor_21 / A Tanzplan Deutschland project is implemented by the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in cooperation with the University for Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main and the Institute for Applied Theater Studies at the University Giessen within the Hessian Theater Academy network.
