This 2018, the Hessian Theatre Academy deals with the fundamental questions of the urban architectural, as well as the accompanying social position of municipal theatres in a series of lectures featuring top experts from architecture, theatre, urbanism, science and politics. What forms of temporality, rhythmization and narratives are associated with theatre architectures? What resistances and possibilities result from the material structures? Our guests will specifically examine and discuss these questions based on the currently contested example of German municipal stages, but also more generally explore these issues from a comparative perspective in light of newer and older forms of theatre.
