A mini big band, who almost include the entire crème de la crème of French jazz: for more than 20 years now, the nine-man ensemble is one of the most astonishing in French jazz – Andy Emelers is described by the press as the Formula One of French jazz, known for his unbridled love of performing and for being a provocative free thinker. “A laboratory for some of the most daring and ingenious music being produced today.” Recognizable musical influences are Frank Zappa, Weather Report, Miles Davis, Claude Debussy, Prince, Steve Reich and Duke Ellington. Composer, arranger and pianist Emeler himself calls his music “fresh European music for the early 21st century”.
