Gurur Ertem

Dr. Gurur Ertem ist Soziologin, Tänzerin und Tanz- und Performancetheoretikerin. Sie schloss ihren Ph.D. in Soziologie an der New School for Social Research (New York) mit der Arbeit „EUropean Dance: The Emergence and Transformation of a Contemporary Dance Art World (1989-2013)” ab. Sie ist zudem seit über zwanzig Jahren im Feld des zeitgenössischen Tanzes aktiv, kuratierte u.a. von 2006 bis 2014 das iDANS Festival for Contemporary Dance and Performance in Istanbul und veröffentlichte mehrere Bücher über Tanz wie „Dance on Time“(2010), „Solo? Contemporary Dance“ (2008) und „Yirminci Yüzyılda Dans Sanatı” (2007). Aktuell forscht Ertem mit Blick auf aktuelle soziale Bewegungen und Formen des körperlichen Widerstands zu Politiken des Körpers und zu affektiven und ästhetischen Artikulationen des „Politischen“. Zu ihren neuesten Publikationen zählen „Bodies of Evidence: Ethics, Aesthetics, and Politics of Movement” (herausgegeben mit Sandra Noeth, 2018) und „Gezi Uprising: Performative Democracy and Politics of the Body in an Extended Space of Appearance” (in: „Media Practices, Social Movements, and Performativity” 2018). Im Rahmen eines Humoldt-Postdoc-Forschungsstipendium arbeitet sie aktuell zu „The Exilic Condition and the Arts“ an der Freien Universität Berlin.
