Carlos Gabriel Martinez
Carlos Gabriel Martinez is Mexican dancer who focuses his scenic research on questions about the social body and analyses identity and physicality as key elements for reflecting on cultural context. Since 2017, he has been developing the permanent research laboratory called Vasija Cobalto in Mexico City. He is a member of the performance ensemble “La Fleur”, directed by Monika Gintersdorfer and Frank Yao. His current research for the piece “Trio (for the beauty of it)” focuses on practices of sonidero, high energy and reggaetón – urban dances that blend American, Latino, European and African cultures.
