Zones of urban decay are pushed to the periphery, Saturday nights disappear in favour of online dating services, darkrooms are replaced by grindr. Public and private spaces are transformed into sterile surroundings. The dangerous and the unforeseeable are both nipped in the bud. When personal safety is given top priority, no room is left for the new, the unknown, the experiment. a black box | a dark room is an audio walk for four people emanating outwards from the theatre as a utopian space of possibility to redefine boundaries, limitations and issues of intimacy.
