As the most famous ambassadors of Malian and African music around the world, Amadou & Mariam have managed to combine their love story with a successful music career. Their story is one of the most inspiring stories in modern music; a love affair that catapulted two grandparents from Mali into the charts around the world, winning enough awards and raising awareness of the difficulties of life in one of the poorest countries in the world.
Internationally, they appeared at a Nobel Peace Prize concert in honour of Barack Obama, also toured with U2 and had a jam session with musicians David Gilmour and Johnny Marr, among others.
In 2017, Amadou & Mariam celebrated their comeback with their eighth album “La Confusion” and claimed to be the continent’s most successful musical ambassadors of the 21st century.
The event will take place in all weathers. Access only via the entrance in Palmengartenstraße. No seating entitlement. After the event, the ticket is valid as a 2for1 voucher for a visit to the Palmengarten (until 31.12.2023).
