Azniv Korkejian is a wanderer, constantly on the road between cities, between styles. More than enough reason to choose the name Bedouine for her music persona. After all, even her biography is a journey across the globe. Born in Syrian Aleppo as the daughter of Armenian parents, she grew up in Saudi-Arabia and emigrated to the USA when her family won a green card. She lived all over the US from Boston to LA, collecting musical inspirations along the way. Recognizable influences on her work are Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Laura Marling and Gillian Welch. Bedouine’s twang, her changes of pace, her insistent- charming manner enchants and twist us around her fingers. It is all that we need for a magical evening, when she visits us on tour with her second album “Bird Songs of a Killjoy”.
