Born to make you happy

Mousonturm Saal

Liederabend/Performance

Daniel Cremer, author, director and performance artist, loves to deconstruct everyday situations and entrenched rituals in order to reinvent them using language and performance. Now, the laureate of the Frankfurt Author’s Foundation sets out for the second time at Mousonturm to dismantle a format, which, like almost no other, stands for bourgeois culture: the lieder recital. He describes his experimental set-up as follows: “Daniel Cremer saves the theatre with a lieder recital, which really everyone enjoys. It is not about entertainment, but rather about happiness. No one can suppress happy people. Therefore, this evening will fail, if even but one single person leaves it less happy than before.” So the notorious one-man-on-stage-singing-something-to-you transforms into an exciting trip into a world, in which everything is allowed, in which everything can be said – far, far away from irony and cynicism.
