A fleeting gesture, a fearful gaze. An embrace, a kiss. Where is the other? Who sees me? In Ce que nous sommes, humanity misses out on its reunion. It survives due to chance – and disappears. The dancers stray from one relationship to the next on damaged trajectories and still put more and more distance between themselves. The fragility of what joins these worlds develops in each seemingly autonomous tableau: each gesture and each hand sketches the togetherness they so long for.
