Grand horror with a small ensemble and masterful voices – that’s the world premiere of the live radio play production “The Dunwich Horror” by Patrik Bishay. Published in 1929, it is one of the best-known works by classic American horror writer H. P. Lovecraft, a pioneer of 20th-century fantastic scary stories. Patrik Bishay has now transformed it into a “symphonic radio play” with three narrators and a piano quartet in a compelling full-length piece that fully captivates its listeners. The musical translation and reflection of the story’s dark and threatening underlying atmosphere and the strangeness of Lovecraft’s fantasy world is extraordinarily gripping.
