Der Ernst Neger Komplex

Mousonturm Saal

Performance/Concert

Augst sings Neger: Oliver Augst – Frankfurt artist at the experimental threshold of music, radio play, literature and entertainment – brings a total evening of songs to Mousonturm this carnival season. Together with Brezel Göring – frontman of Stereo Total – and a complete big band, he interprets hits by the singing roofer Ernst Neger and further heroes of German popular music. All of post-war Germany went into a frenzy to the tunes of Heile Heile Gänsje and Humba Täterä during the Mainz carnival sessions and celebrated the drunk rebirth of the nation from the spirit of “Schlager” music. ERNST NEGER KOMPLEX is an evening about music and emotion, about beauty and shame and about the danger of singing in front of strangers. ERNST NEGER KOMPLEX was produced as a complex music and text collage, live radio play and concert in cooperation between Mousonturm, the SWR and the marburgjazzorchestra*.
