Carolina Bianchi & Cara de Cavalo

(São Paulo/Amsterdam)

The Cadela Força Trilogy. Chapter 1: The Bride and Goodnight Cinderella

Location: Frankfurt LAB (Gallus)

Theater

We find ourselves in an environment where the past and present collide and repressed experiences return. Here Carolina Bianchi speaks in disturbing terms about femicides that have occurred in recent decades. As she does so, she places herself in a position of maximum vulnerability. While she describes how the performance artist Pippa Bacca was raped and murdered during one of her performances in 2008, Bianchi swallows some knockout drops. Under the influence of the drug (also known as “Good Night Cinderella”), she becomes sleepy and eventually unconscious. This personally motivated performance outlines boundaries that many survivors of abuse have to face. What can an unconscious and memoryless body tell anyone? Will Bianchi’s body ultimately be forgotten while other scenes, rituals and dialogues play out in the theater?
