Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm

It is the most unusual comeback of the season: ten years ago, Belgian choreographer Ives Thuwis produced his first dance project together with seven teenagers at FFT Düsseldorf. Conceived for an adult audience, the piece became a sensational surprise hit. Although almost all who participated in the project have meanwhile gone on to become artists themselves, their aesthetic and personal opinions and preferences naturally differ. Nevertheless, the group stayed in contact over the years and now is back on stage for the first time again as a collective for Dream Land: How Things Go. Together they go in search of a “poetics of utopia”, that allows for a renewed encounter, mutual recognition off the beaten track of all professional armaments, artistic positions, theatrical techniques and danced attitudes. All these things will be courageously shed or deconstructed with relish – a deeply moving as well as subversively funny Sisyphus exercise driven by the notion that there is something substantial that binds people together – something that is inalienable, but maybe also unattainable
