Enno Bunger’s fourth album offers the soundtrack for a better life. One in which we prefer to collect fond memories rather than messenger chats. One in which the quality of the moment is worth more than an imagined goal in the distance: “Wir wollen nichts mehr werden / wir wollen nur noch sein.“ (“We don’t want to become anything anymore / we just want to be.”) Enno Bunger packs his disarmingly emotional stories into meticulous arrangements – aside from “Stranger Things” retro-synth and classically grand and yet tasteful piano ballads, “Was berührt, das bleibt” also features rap. Better and more lucid that many full-time representatives of this genre! After listening to the album, you have to ask yourself if you’re truly living your life or should rather go re-charge.
