In 2015, Mousonturm presented artist Simone Dede Ayivi for the first time as part of the platform Afropean Mimicry & Mockery in Theatre, Performance & Visual Arts II with her piece Performing Back. While that piece mainly focused on the colonial past and its presence in daily German life, the artist and her team now turn their attention to the future to formulate empowering visions of a positive utopian, feminist and post-racist future in their new production. First Black Woman in Space, for which Mousonturm has invited the artistic team to a several-week long residency, is a collaborative contemplation of utopic potential along the lines of afro-futurism. The showing provides insights into the working process.

Biography
Simone Dede Ayivi
„Black Bismarck“ (2013).
