First Life – ein Melodram (Wiederaufnahme)

Mousonturm Studio 1

Performance/Dance

Do you have time for a meeting today? Perhaps next week? First Life – a Melodrama deals with fictive and real life partner relationships, with love affairs, break-ups and society. Often people speak about their private lives and ask others for their opinion. It’s generally agreed that although emotions are important, it’s not worth getting hysterical about the current liaison and that everything is relative. Rarely does someone say: “For me, the one thing that counts is a happy relationship.” In First Life – a Meldodrama choreographer and performer Verena Billinger and Frankfurt choreographer and dancer Sebastian Schulz examine the unrealistic, although legitimate claim of feelings to a happy ending of stories, whose end has actually already been told, e.g. because love has expired.

Concept, Performance: Verena Billinger, Sebastian Schulz * Collaboration: Arnita Jaunsubrena, Iva Sveshtarova * Music: Markus Mehr * Lights: Katharina Stephan * Funded by the Cultural Department of the City of Frankfurt am Main, the Cultural Department of the City of Giessen and the Hessian Theatre Academy * Supported by PACT Zollverein and Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt am Main.
