Dramaturgie, 2.OG

Lecture

The clown entered the stage of global political protests as a character a while ago, think of the Pink Fluffy Army that march with toilet brushes and a howling chant against Pegida demonstrations or against police violence and that uses this civil disobedience as tactically interrupting or exuberant acts. As preparation of the project “The Greatest Show on Earth. A Performance-Circus for the 21st century” choreographer Jeremy Wade is leading a reading group which focus on texts that explore art, activism, performance and politics mix with the autonomy and agency of the clown.
At the first session Jeremy Wade will give an introductory lecture and the planning for the further sessions will be discussed.
Jeremy Wade gives a physical workshop for performers and professional dancers on the figure of the clown, disruption, art, activism and the powerlessness from 27th to 29th of May.
