Jérôme Bel

(Paris)

Gala, Rhine-Main Version

Location: Frankfurt LAB (Gallus)

Choreography

French choreographer Jérôme Bel knows how to challenge contemporary dance in astonishing ways like no others. He opens the theatre to those you wouldn’t normally find there. The gala, an art form that is both festive and collective, brings together dance professionals and amateurs from the Rhine-Main region. Who are the invisible people in our society? Which bodies do we suppress? Jérôme Bel subverts conventional power structures of representation and gives the individual a chance for autonomy. Ruthless. Lustfully. Radically beautiful.
