GLAND – The marginal Sculptures of Newtopia (Dimension a & b)

Mousonturm Saal

Performance/Choreography

“I step out of the projection, in order to see the landscape I have been wandering. Realizing that the version of my self now writing these words exists simultaneously with the one who is wandering inside the Gland. Events are experienced in parallel universes, while an event looses its integrity and asks to be rediscovered. Familiarity is replaced by reproductions of familiarity finally reaching the unfamiliar. I produce versions of the same journey infinitely, until I stagger, and reinvent myself in different variations. A tiger’s leap, the stillness of the statue, shinning asphalt on a rainy night, all belong to the same category of events. Now, step out of the projection and tell me where you are.”

By creating movements contradicting its nature the Greek choreographer and performer turns the dancing body into a generator of utopias and fictions.
