Kristin Asbjørnsen is Norway’s voice of soul. The trained jazz musician combines elements of jazz, gospel, pop, spiritual and African music into songs  that thrive on the contrast between her smoky, expressive voice and the gentle melodies. Asbjørnsen makes full use of her repertoire of expressive means and her music touches both ear, soul and sometimes even the legs. On her album “Traces Of You” (2018), she developed an impressive sound with traces of West-African dance rhythms, Nordic contemporary jazz and contemplative church music in collaboration with her long-standing guitarist Olav Target and the Gambian kora player Suntou Susso. At her performance at Mousonturm, she will be joined by the acclaimed author Hanne Ørstavik for a poetic and musical dialogue.
