Performance/Choreography

We are constantly in motion. In her new piece, choreographer Antje Velsinger follows the trail of our restless mobility together with visual artist Janina Arendt and sound artist Katharina Kellermann to discover the suspension of all contradictions in the space between movement and standstill. Thanks to the Internet, we are able to experience communication and activity while simultaneously remaining in stasis as never before. Velsinger’s theatrical laboratory combines everyday things, objects and human bodies into movement machines used to explore various sets of questions. What moves us? When do we move something or are moved by something? And what role does the act of remaining behind play? Velsinger examines aspects of cybernetics liked questioned in the past by artists such as Oskar Schlemmer and Jean Tinguely.
