“Please continue writing in this annoying way about topics that amount to a colonoscopy for some readers” – such are the gems from the comments column to be found in “Die letzten Tage des Patriarchats” (“The Last Days of Patriarchy”), a best-and-worst album, for which journalist Margarete Stokowski not only selected a range of texts from seven years of working for the taz and Spiegel Online, but also exchanges and correspondences with her readers. Sorted by key words such as “Men” or “Abs, Thighs, Butt”, the texts form a chronology of political debates from the past few years. Sexism, gender and feminism form the coordinates of this matrix. For some it may probably be the longest colonoscopy in the world. For others, it is a passionate plea with bite and humour for a more tolerable society.
