Poetry is the spinster of literature – cumbersome, old-fashioned, lacking glamor. But if you take a closer look, the story is a completely different one. Maybe poetry is never featured on the bestseller lists, but the poetry scene is a vibrant one. Not least of all thanks to Jan Wagner, who won the Leipzig Book Fair Prize this spring as the first poet ever. He will be accompanied by one of the scene’s heavyweights: Michael Krüger. Together they will prove just how vivacious poems still are today.
