These New Puritans are famous for their eccentric recording techniques. In order to find the desired avant-garde sound, these British art rockers have been known to smash watermelons covered in crackers and to send the murderous roars of a chain saw through the airwaves. This brute backdrop of sound is set off by classical string instruments, Japanese taiko drums and a woodwind and brass ensemble. Their live performances revel in a distinct atmospheric cosmos of their own, the effect of which are not to be missed.
