Contemplation, concentration and depth, with a voice that dances light as a bird through gospel melodies, plunges into dreams and excesses – Matt Corby, young songwriter from Sydney and avowing Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young-Fan has experienced quite a bit and has much to tell. After striking out with a church band, working at a fast food joint, receiving music scholarships, then support slots with other bands, he finally ended up concentrating on songwriting. Corby transforms his stories with innumerous timbres into deep-dark blues and complex, beautifully instrumental folk songs, which stay with you for days. So it comes as no surprise that his second EP Into the Flame was awarded platinum four times in 2011 and his first major tour across Australia was sold out within two days in 2012. Now, he brings his impressive debut album Telluric to Frankfurt.
