When the classically trained pianists Hauschka aka Volker Bertelman and Nils Frahm come to Mousonturm, we are hosting the two best players of neo-post-classical piano in Germany. Hauschka delves deeply into the undiscovered acoustic worlds of prepared pianos, which he has expanded to include minimal music and pop in his album “Salon des Amateurs” (2011). Nils Frahm’s minimalist compositions likewise oscillate between classical structures and the reductive principle of an electronic track. His piano pieces are astounding, for although they appear perfect, they are exclusively based on improvisation. All the more reason to look forward to an exciting cooperation between these two musicians.
