Mapa Teatro

(Bogotá)

La Luna en el Amazonas/Der Mond im Amazonas

Mousonturm Saal

ALL IN/Theater

While the richest men in the world are preoccupied with conquering space, indigenous communities in the Colombian Amazon live in self-imposed isolation. An act of resistance, in the battle to survive a deadly policy that began over 300 years ago: men from Europe set out to subjugate the planet. In its latest production, the internationally acclaimed Mapa Teatro from Bogotá set out in search of the invisible, telling the tale of voluntary and involuntary lockdowns and weaving a richly illustrated docu-fiction out of stories, rumours, findings and analyses. As if in a hologram, Mapa Teatro make the moon appear in the Amazon, close enough to touch and then, on closer inspection, it’s gone again.
