At home both equally in theatre, literature, video and choreography, the young duo El Conde de Torrefiel from Barcelona constantly push all boundaries of their artistic languages: Tanya Beyeler and Pablo Gisbert’s highly unusual theatre poetry composed of tragicomic narratives, paradox tableaux vivants and absurd-formal choreographies, has caused an international stir in no time at all. In “LA PLAZA” (The Square), they stage allegorical, humorously irritating images of contemporary civilisation, entangled in the constant contradictions of political and private, between social responsibility and personal freedom. La Plaza is that place, in which people override the rules of time and space, of life and death in a world that overtakes itself in order to obtain a concept of the future.
