Before the official opening of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2013, this three-day literature forum at Mousonturm seeks to provide a vibrant and comprehensive overview of current Brazilian playwriting. In the guest country’s best tradition, Brazilian actress Juliana Galdino and German actresses Bettina Hoppe (3., 4.10.) and Franziska Junge (5.10.) will be presenting excerpts of contemporary, in some cases award-winning plays by Newton Moreno, Leonardo Moreira, Grace Passô, Jô Bilac, Roberto Alvim, Pedro Brício, Emanuel Aragão and Sílvia Gomes. The daily readings and the great diversity of themes and experimental narrative structures that they contain will form the backbone of the programme. Evening talks offer authors the chance to speak with each other and discuss impressions and questions raised by the audience after the readings.
