Mathias Schabow is a storyteller on the piano. His compositions are more harmonious than dissonant, with elegant arches rather than sharp edges. With a relaxed confidence, the Frankfurt pianist merges late Romantic classical music with modern jazz into atmospheric musical landscapes. Together his own label Schabowmusic, he has now produced what is already the fifth CD with solo compositions, into which he integrates improvised passages at his concerts.
