Mine – originally known as Jasmin Stocker – proves that German pop music isn’t boring. Having trained as a jazz singer, she is a songwriter, pianist, producer and has already taught and coached several bands – so she knows music making from a wide range of perspectives. Her new album “Klebstoffis seasoned with a whole array of arrangements featuring strings, synthesizer, flutes, organs and even bagpipes. She is a great lover of her mother tongue, picking out beautiful phrases and “throwing a few lines into the ether”, nonchalantly performing them to strong piano melodies, minimalist guitar riffs, playful electronics and driving drums. Her songs sound different: they stand out as pop with a shot of German rap to it, a wit and edge. This makes her fun to listen to, – and you might even want to sing along, “einfach so”.
