My Imaginary Cities

Mousonturm Foyer

Audiowalk

Both when we speak of a place and its history, as well as when we attempt to orient ourselves in a place, we generally tend to use what we see as reference. My Imaginary Cities assembles stories by blind and visually impaired people from Beirut and Frankfurt into an audio walk of the city. The narrators’ approach to public spaces and its occasionally gruesome history influences directions, speeds and rhythms. Beirut and Frankfurt collide to produce an imaginary third city that allows us to explore those areas in which we lose our orientation.
