Mousonturm

Performance/Walk

Mobile Albania’s “Omnibus” is making a stop at Mousonturm and growing a new network of connections across the commuter capital of Frankfurt and its surrounding regions. New and unexpected connections are created beyond the familiar nodes as passers-by and visitors register stops on a map. Suddenly, connections lead right through living rooms, gardens and backyards. They are all explored together in “NAHVERKEHR: entkarten” (“PUBLIC TRANSPORT: unmapping”) – be it with the collective bus, short distances on foot or in hijacked public transport lines. What knowledge is gathered via these new connections? What boundaries do they cross? And how can a map capture it all? Mobile Albania invites you to move through a Frankfurt without boundaries. The juxtaposition of it all in traffic creates a moving inquiry into what constitutes connections and being connected in a hypermobile society – a new practice of commuting between everyday routine and alchemy.
