Between reality and simulation, the piece “Navigator” tells the story of a lonely man, who lives with his complexes in his comfort zone. Surrounded by new and dark technologies, an egoistic director, emotionless colleagues, an aggressive father – the “friendly psychopath” Rostom’s only and most important reality is a female voice giving him directions. Young playwright Lasha Bugadze, author of novels and theatre pieces, created “Navigator” as a piece for one of Georgia’s largest and oldest stages. Founded in 1928 by director and innovator Kote Marjanishvili as a second state theatre, today’s Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theatre combines tradition and contemporaneity.
