Discussion

Two new events in the feminist discussion series by the ID_Frankfurt: the first on 12 June with dance & theatre scholar Martina Ruhsam and performance artist Kate McIntosh is following the shows of In Many Hands. Both women share a special interest in the world of things as regards performance. What does choreography really mean in this case? And to what degree can a choreography of things in particular free its audience from the position of observer concentrating purely on seeing and instead enable a shared community?
On 1 July, we then focus on visible and invisible power structures, which have always determined such forms of community. Choreographer Simone Aughterlony and social scientist Vanessa Thompson will discuss various aspects of Aughterlony’s performance piece UNI * FORM.
