Who has pink things, who has blue ones? Who’s strong, who is smart? Who wears what, who moves in what way? And who actually kisses whom? These are the questions raised by Swiss choreographer Tabea Martin in “Pink for Girls & Blue for Boys” for children age eight and up and their parents. Between sofa, houseplants, lots of popcorn, theatrical smoke and music, two women and two men spark an increasingly wild dance of characters, styles and couples – and a game of gender roles. Who is a boy and what is a girl, and who actually decides these things? How about we simply forget all boundaries and do what we want? An exciting-entertaining piece about clichés, prejudices and colourful possibilities, which encourages people to think for themselves, to interfere and – last, but not least – is simply a whole lot of fun.
