Eliza Rescue Team

Report from the Interior

Mousonturm Saal

Performance

Nature dipped in glycerine, hollowed out and coloured, moulded wolfs in stiff poses in front of scenery flanked with hills. All sealed into a case, a window into another world. Dioramas usually provide a museum’s insight into an ostensibly wild, lifelike habitat. However, in their empty, toxic stiffness, they are also reminiscent of hostile, apocalyptic scenarios. The Eliza Rescue Team collective seeks access to the world of dioramas along this very border. The human simulation experts overcome the safe distance, until they lose control over their own staged play with nature, as it reverses on them and the humans themselves become endangered. In its essayistic style, “Report from the Interior” combines science-fiction and diorama into a visually powerful and atmospherically dense theatre performance.
