For more than 25 years Gob Squad have been known as experts in how to deal with longing and melancholy. In “Show Me A Good Time” the English-German performance collective blurs the boundaries between art, theatre and “real life” and searches the entire Frankfurt city area for the really good time in the here and now. From the street or other public places, urban life with all its danger, beauty and disorder is transmitted live via video to the cosy control centre in the theatre. The audience can follow the fourday search action directly in the theatre or online from home. Driven by the ultimate deadline of impending doom, “Show Me A Good Time” takes advantage of the moment when our society starts to falter and keeps the pause button pressed. There is no way back! But what can we do to free the present from its “selfie-catastrophe“?
