SOFT SKILLS gonna bite

Mousonturm Studio 1

Hessische Theaterakademie/Performance

Which qualities and soft skills that are considered male are especially desirable for working life? How can we teach ourselves these skills? How does working on our masculinity affect our careers? What happens when a female* body performatively appropriates these skills in the theatre? In “SOFT SKILLS gonna bite”, the independent performance collective CHICKS* invites local experts from various sectors to examine the performance of masculinity in the work environment. In an experimental, interactive co-working space, the audience encounters a bodybuilder and a stripper, who have trained in masculinity with the CHICKS*: They copy. They imitate. They work with the audience on themselves and rewrite social constructions of desire and power.
