The Berlin and Brussels-based US-American choreographer Meg Stuart has been changing the way we view dance and choreography since the early 1990s. With great delicacy and feel for irony, she transforms the complex depths of human life into eruptive movements. In “Solos and Duets”, Meg Stuart and her company Damaged Goods write a new chapter in the history of their work. In this combined programme, a selection of solo works and duets, as well as excerpts from full-length performances, are brought together for the first time. The result is a joyous kaleidoscope of an ever-changing body of work. On stage are dancers and musicians who have shaped the work of Meg Stuart and Damaged Goods for many years, including the Frankfurt-based electronic duo Les Trucs.

Biography
Meg Stuart / Damaged Goods
Meg Stuart, geboren in New Orleans, lebt und arbeitet als Choreografin und Tänzerin in Berlin und Brüssel. 1994 gründete Stuart in Brüssel die Compagnie Damaged Goods, mit dem Ziel künstlerische Projekte in einer eigenen Arbeitsstruktur zu entwickeln. Meg Stuart realisierte mit Damaged Goods über dreißig Produktionen, von Solostücken bis zu Ensemblestücken, Installationen, Videoarbeiten, ortsspezifische Projekte und Improvisationen. In Zusammenarbeit mit Künstler*innen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen sucht Stuart für jedes Stück nach einer neuen Sprache und bewegt sich häufig im Spannungsfeld von Tanz und Theater. Stuarts Arbeit deckt die Verletzlichkeit des Körpers, der sich permanent in Frage stellt, auf. Durch Improvisation erkundet und analysiert Stuart körperliche und emotionale Zustände oder die Erinnerung daran: Auf der Suche nach neuen Präsentationsformen und Territorien definiert sie die Identität ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit immer wieder neu. Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods kooperieren u.a. mit dem Kaaitheater (Brüssel) und dem HAU Hebbel am Ufer (Berlin) und sind regelmäßig am Mousonturm zu Gast.
