Die Spitzköpfe und die Rundköpfe

Mousonturm Saal

Performance/Musical Theatre

The land of Yahoo: Five landlords, let’s call them Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta and Microsoft, exploit their tenants. The latter plough their fields of experience diligently and voluntarily, pay incessantly with their data, create wealth that does not belong to them and do not notice how they grow poorer. Until the next crisis. A few rise up against the landlords, but most give free rein to their social media-enhanced affectations. “Die Spitzköpfe und die Rundköpfe” (“Round Heads and Pointed Heads”), conceived by Bertolt Brecht as a parable on fascism set in a distant land, is brought into the here and now. As a performance in which the audience asks itself: How is my own subjectivity produced by gender, race and class? How can we imagine a world without anti-Semitism, without patriarchy and class differences? A world without exploitation and data mining? As in Brecht’s didactic play, anti-social behaviour and resentment have to be lived through in order to find possible answers – fuelled by Les Trucs with their rhythms that always throw everything out of sync.
