In dance, being beside oneself is often considered a goal worth striving for on both sides of the ramp. In her “choreographic ode to alienation”, Icelandic choreographer Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir adds a provocatively poetic position to common clichés about exhaustion, as well as sociological and philosophical debates about alienation in Step Right To It. With hypnotic minimalism, the quartet allows the audience to experience the continually wandering power of the gaze and its object as “dark matter”.
