In a dark space, the audience encounter naked bodies covered in black paint which approach each other and become knotted together, breathing heavily, scurrying and stamping like an individual searching for something or a collective in the process of being formed. “There is nothing that man fears more than the touch of the unknown.” The opening sentence of Elias Canetti’s book ‘Crowds and Power’ provides Evelin with the central idea for his highly atmospheric and high-energy production.

Der brasilianische Choreograf, Performer und Forscher lebt seit 1986 in Europa und arbeitet vor allem im Tanz und Physical Theatre, aber auch im Bereich Musik, Video, Installation und ortsspezifischer Kunst. Er kollaboriert mit Künstlern unterschiedlicher Disziplinen, ist derzeit mit seiner Compagnie Demolition Inc. Artist in Residenz am Hetveem Theater in Amsterdam, lehrt, gibt Workshops und ist weltweit auf Festivals vertreten, so auch in Brasilien, wo er seit 2006 wieder lebt und arbeitet.
