Dance-in-Schools-Day: Exchange!

Mousonturm Saal

Dance/Other

The Dance in Schools Day is a chance for dance in schools projects to engage in peer-to-peer exchange about experiences made, results produced, questions asked and approaches chosen. It is a forum for students, teachers, headmasters and artists, who have already gained some experience in projects implemented in cooperation with Tanzlabor_21. The platform aims to stimulate communication between all participants and encourage mutual co-operation. Exchange will take place e.g. in form of small practical workshops, round tables, dance presentations, videos, photos and collages.

Since 2006, when Tanzlabor_21 initiated its first Dance in Schools project in Darmstadt, 15 dance makers have worked with students at integrated schools, grammar schools, grade schools, special-needs schools, vocational schools and cultural schools in Frankfurt and across Hesse. Dance is thereby posited as an integral part of a comprehensive education and of personal development. The projects teach students how contemporary dance pieces are developed and performed, as well as knowledge of various forms of movement and dance techniques in a fundamental way that is suitable for their respective age groups. Dance in Schools is a Tanzlabor_21 project.
