Teilen und Tauschen: Vortrag und Diskussion mit Antonio Negri

Mousonturm Saal

Diskussion/Vortrag

Sharing and trading are fundamental human cultural practices. They play just as great a role in poor countries as in affluent societies. But when do I actually share something – and with whom? What are we willing to share in the face of growing global inequality and new streams of migration? Italian political philosopher Antonio Negri is considered one of most influential thinkers of the international left since the publications of his books “Empire” and “Commonwealth”. In this lecture, he will outline the idea of a “democratic” form of sharing and ask what it means to “share our lives” today. The talk will be followed by a conversation between ethnologist Hans Peter Hahn (Goethe University Frankfurt), Andreas Ströhl, Nikolai Blaumer (both Goethe Institut) and the audience.

The anthology “Teilen und Tauschen” (Sharing and Exchange), published by Klaus-Dieter Lehmann, Johannes Ebert, Andreas Ströhl and Nikolai Blaumer has been recently released by the Fischer Verlag (in German).
