Terminal X – Building Our Future

Location: Frankfurter Stadtwald

Musical Theatre

Since the start of the “Runway West Protests” in the mid-1970s, the Frankfurt Municipal Forest has stood at the very heart of one of the most persistent and influential grassroots movements in Germany. Composer Julia Mihály and dramaturge Maria Huber take the current resistance against the planned expansion of the Frankfurt Airport with Terminal 3 as an opportunity to once more occupy this same place – with a mobile performance: using music and movement in conjunction with the forest itself, “Terminal X – Building Our Future” opens up an artistic (acoustic) space for resistance. Shifting between live performance, radio play and audio walk, the piece makes it possible to experience not only the criticism, but also the special relationship between the municipal forest and the protest culture that has grown within it.
