Signore Mario “And believe me, it will be enough!”-Draghi is currently the happiest man in Europe. Between all his moving boxes and in pleasant anticipation of the first press conference in his new Ostend home, here comes an invitation to the next Financial Cocktail Club. There, he will be welcomed by the performance multi-talent Chris Kondek from one tower to another in order to toast him on the new EZB. With almost occult dedication, Kondek devotes himself to the exegesis of Draghi’s most recent euro evocations only to then soulfully roam the anti-matter of today’s global finances, including ultimate lounging in low interest rates. As always, the first cocktail is on the house!

Biography
Chris Kondek
Chris Kondek (geboren 1962 in Boston, lebt in Berlin) arbeitet seit über 20 Jahren mit internationalen Künstlern und Kollektiven wie der Wooster Group (Beginn 1990), Laurie Anderson (Beginn 1995) und Meg Stuart (Beginn 1999), für deren Theaterstücke und Performances er zahlreiche Videoarbeiten schuf. 1999 übersiedelte Kondek von New York nach Berlin und beginnt die künstlerische Zusammenarbeit mit Armin Petras, Sebastian Baumgarten, Wanda Golonka, Hans-Werner Kroesinger, René Pollesch, Michael Nyman, Marianne Weems/The Builder’s Association, Jossi Wieler, Falk Richter, Stefan Kaegi und Stefan Pucher. Kondeks Videoarbeiten wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet (OPUS-Preis 2008, FAUST 2012 zusammen mit Barbara Ehnes). Seit 2004 entwickelt Chris Kondek eigene Theaterarbeiten, darunter die mehrfach ausgezeichnete Performance Dead Cat Bounce, in dem Performer live auf der Bühne mit den Eintrittsgeldern der Zuschauer spekulieren. Zusammen mit dem Schauspieler Matthias Breitenbach entwickelte Kondek 2011 am Mousonturm die Performance Even The Dead are Not Safe From The Living, die im Rahmen der Frankfurter Positionen uraufgeführt wurde. Für EVAKUIEREN widmet sich Kondek der Frage, ob angesichts der gesamtgesell-schaftlich immer weiter um sich greifenden Prekarisierung Künstler sich tatsächlich als weg-weisende Berater erweisen, um Perspektiven für ein Leben ohne Geld zu entwickeln. Seit 2014 veranstaltet Chris Kondek im Künstlerhaus Mousonturm die Reihe The Financial Cocktail Club.
