Piano and music theory at the age of nine, his first keyboard at 14 and then with 20 the first demo studio thing – who would expect that this description fits Ralf Hildenbeutel, Sven Väth’s musical partner and one of the most important techno producers? “Intelligent Techno” is what many have called his work. And what is he doing now? Hildenbeutel is still very creative: after making a name for himself as the producer of pop-stars such as Laith Al-Deen, Yvonne Catterfeld and Andreas Bourani, he now successfully composes film music. Time for a meeting with Gregor Praml at the LOKAL Listener at Mousonturm to introduce this utterly interesting musician to a wider audience. For unlike Sven Väth and in spite of his considerable career, Ralf Hildenbeutel can still walk the streets unrecognized.
